The Bera team has shipped an upgrade, Berachain Testnet v2 with significant updates which include: EIP-4844 and EIP-4788 support, full SSZ encoding, CometBFT for single slot finality, and an introduction to BeaconKit, an EVM-focused development framework (Inspired from ETH2)—Moving away from Polaris EVM.
Let me bore you a little…
Berachain is building an EVM-equivalent L1 on the Cosmos SDK powered by PoL and powering it with a tri-token system.
$BERA — the native gas token
$HONEY — the native stablecoin
$BGT — the non-transferrable” Bera Governance Token
Remember the protocol has raised more than $211M, with investors like Binance, Framework, Polychain, Shima Capital, etc so let’s interact to tap into the $1.5B valued company.
CLAIM TESTNET TOKEN
- Head to the Faucet
- Accept the pop message
- Paste your wallet address, and
- Request test tokens and you’ll receive 1 $BERA.
You have to have at least 0.01 ETH on Ethereum Mainnet in your wallet to be able to use the faucet.

- Head to https://bartio.faucet.berachain.com/#dapps,
- Click on BEX
BEX is the Native AMM, where you can Swap tokens, add liquidity, create
pools, and earn BGT rewards.
2a. Connect your wallet.
2b. Make sure you’re on the bArtio V2 network
2c. Swap some $BERA to $HONEY and $WBTC
2d. Go the Pool tab
2e. Select “HONEY-WBERA” pool and find an equilibrium to stake
2f. Approve and confirm the staking
3. Go back to the Ecosystem page
4. Click on Honey
4b. Switch to REDEEM
4c. Approve $HONEY and Redeem
5. Go back to the Ecosystem page
6. Click on BEND
6a. Agree to the terms & condition
6b. Connect your wallet and make sure you’re on Berachain-bArtio network
6c. Supply $HONEY by clicking on ‘Supply’
6d. Approve and Supply $HONEY
6e. On your ‘available to deposit’ deposit $WBTC so we can borrow
6f. After depositing; click on ‘Borrow’ and borrow $HONEY, you can repay later.
7. Go back to the Ecosystem page
8. Click on BERPS
8a. Accept terms & condition
8b. Connect your wallet, and click on start trading.
8c. Select a leverage, set a long or short trade with a minimum of 10 $HONEY.
9. Go back to the Ecosystem page
10. Click on BGT Station
10a. Accept Terms & Condition
10b. Select a Gauge and incentivize the pool
10c. Slide to “My Gauges” and claim the little $BGT reward
10d. Click on “Validators”, select a Validator
10e. Click “delegate” and “Queue boost”
11. Go back to the Ecosystem page
12. The last dApp, Beratrails is the blockchain explorer, now scan your wallet let’s see how many transactions you’ve racked.
